Born and raised in a typical pashtoon family that have some roots back in Iran and Afghanistan,I was brought up by feeding the same lessons of conformity and patriarchy that were taught to my sisters and other girls of my family. The academic excellence for girls has standard size value and like other girls of my family,I was asked to complete my high school if I want and after that I was supposed to get married to the man of my Parents'choice. But since my childhood, I was a dreamer.I used to weave dreams of myself being considered an individual who has her own perception and Outlook toward life. In seven siblings ,I was the youngest, and apple of my mother's eyes. She made my father flexible in my case and so I was allowed to buy books as it was a harmless activity for a girl. The things got different ,when after my intermediate ,I told my father that I wanted to pursue my studies. He somehow gave me permission to continue my studies .I knew that giving voice to my words could make them think my studies was making me bold so I started writing them. It took me 10 years to make my Parents believe that education doesn't spoil a woman. It makes her strong to stand for her rights. It builds her character not spoils her It took a decade to make them believe that "A woman is a Human first". Now I'm a lecturer. I have done MS in English Literature. It's just because of my father and mother who trusted me enough to be a little version of that person I always wanted to be. Poetry and short stories are my favorite genres.I personally believe in the magic of Poetry . It's the only outlet of intensified emotions. I thank the platform of Daastan who made my dream possible to be an Author one Day.
