Tragic accident? Suicide? Or cold-blooded murder?
On June 01, 2025, the cursed history of Velvet Vista claims a new soul. A 26-year-old woman is found floating in the pool of a hotel already infamous for suicides, dark secrets, and serial killings. What appears to be a quiet death soon becomes the center of a chilling murder mystery novel where every shadow hides a secret.
Inside the hotel are five possible suspects: a couple whose relationship hides tension, a close-knit group of friends guarding untold truths, a mysterious businessman with unknown motives, an anxious hotel manager desperate to protect the hotel’s reputation, and a jittery on-duty staff member who seems to know more than he says.
Chief Investigator Albert Vasquez, known for solving the most complex cases, steps into the scene. What begins as a routine investigation quickly turns into a gripping detective novel case filled with unanswered questions.
The victim has no ID.
No clear wounds.
No obvious crime.
As Vasquez begins to untangle the puzzle, the hotel’s dark reputation resurfaces. Velvet Vista has always been surrounded by whispers of tragedy, and this death might be another chapter in its sinister history. Each suspect offers a different version of the night. Each story contradicts another.

This gripping crime mystery novel takes readers through a maze of deception, secrets, and psychological tension where every conversation reveals another layer of the mystery.
Perfect for fans of murder mystery novels for young adults and readers who enjoy fast-paced investigations, shocking twists, and dark secrets, The Night She Drowned opens the Velvet Vista Case series with a haunting mystery that refuses to stay buried.
Will Vasquez uncover the truth before it sinks forever?
A chilling beginning to one of the best detective mystery books for readers who love suspense, psychological tension, and unforgettable investigations.

I loved how author tried to keep her A-game in creating cliff-hangers and suspense. I was turning pages only to realize I finished it way too soon than expected. Recommended to people who want a good mystery weekend read.
