March 26, 2003. The beginning of the Darballan Massacre. Damien’s country is ravaged and destroyed. The once-mighty dynasty has fallen, and he has fallen with it. He lost everybody because of his own stupidity. The one from the pond begins to arise. Its substance hides all that he fears. He does not want to see it; he cannot bear to. It is time to give up, but then a miraculously living infant catches his attention, igniting a spark in his heart. A second chance at life. The task is clear: he must travel across the country, or what is left of it, to save the child’s life. As the journey continues, the truth slowly unfolds alongside it. Until then, Damien remains trapped in a place offering only death and denial.

Such a fun and interesting read !! The story pulled me in from start & kept me wanting to know more... It's amazing to see this kind of creativity and storytelling from a 15-year-old writer.

Can't wait to read more from this young author in future.
