I am as inbetween things as I am inbetween stories. The more I write the more each layer will peel off to reveal what Iam made of, for both you and me.

I have wanted to read this since I saw the title in the entries for the short story competition! Now, I finally did and I must say, this story is indeed very good.

Vad trevligt. Du har gjort ett strålande jobb. :-D (swedish).
Comprehensively flawless.
Quite ingenious. Every word being brilliantly placed. Especially, while knitting the Rakko's emotional journey, MEHER knows precisely how DEEP to DIVE IN and how HiGH to RISE on the rollercoaster of emotions.
I would rather call it an eMOTION RIDE.
Meher is very discreet, knowing how to convey this topic to the readers.
Meher your effort is appreciable and worth reading.
Med vänlig hälsningar(with friendly greetings)
Good luck honung(honey)

Beautiful words and an even more beautiful topic, enjoyed it a lot, really glad you chose to focus on an emotional topic rather than so called realist topic, needed a "human story" after all the inhumanity we see everyday. Best of luck for future stories really looking forward to them and a big Congratulations on this one

The sarcastic approach you have used throughout the story was SALT TO THE FOOD like your DEEP RED NAIL POLISH. The way you described ART was something beyond horizon_life became art and art became life. It 'explored' the very neglected common issue i-e Parents' Counselling and the level of communication gap elevating such children. Produce more words and feed us. You and your efforts are commendable.

Meet me up and spill them beans!
I loved it! In its entirety.
It was crisp; it got the pain, the desperation, the nausea, the demons, the fleeting sense of hope, the struggle but most of all the madness so beautifully across. There were parts where I wanted to hug Rako and then to shake her little head in frustration like Homer Simpson and then cry with her. And that made me love this little, yet moving story even more. I want to thank you, you for having the courage and patience to write what we unfortunately deem as the norm. What we've so become accustomed to that it has become an integral part of our lives, of our sorry society. Stockholm Syndrome, much?
...
But you know me, I did question a few bits here and there, but my criticism is unnecessary here, only because you heard what you heard on the 4th of July 2016, and for how delicately you portrayed a lifestyle of oppression in a so-called Muslim society.
Thank you.
All the love! x
A.

This impressive, unashamedly classic story about trials and tribulations faced by a girl having grand ambitions from first time writer Mehrunissa shows how exhibiting balance and restraint can give us a great story to tell. A must read for the youth!

Loved the story. Loved the genuine idea. Neglecting a child for no reason is something our parents do without even knowing. The impact it leaves on someone is always huge and shattering. Knowing that it's the first story if author. Hats off. Way to go!
