Introduction

The author of this book is Ali Arsam. It is his first book. It contains poetry about four main phases of life. Love, sadness, motivation and inevitable. As they are all flavors of life, or should be said as Flavors of Soul.

This section of the book is about heartbreaks not just from lovers, but also from friends. I am sure we all have experienced betrayal, sorrow and pain from the people that we thought were perfect for us or were an important part of our lives. If you can relate, just so you know you are not alone in this.

    -Feelings-

I am feeling sorrow,

I wish feelings can be borrowed,

I will return them tomorrow.

In these feelings, I'm drowned.

I am feeling like my pain is changing into wounds,

This never-ending darkness, I am bound.

I was fine before,

Now I am feeling like the world is no more,

It's getting harder to believe the phrase,

 "Time will heal me for sure."

You look for someone else,

 I have seen in your eyes,

 Every time I see that, a little part of me dies.

 I'm thinking maybe it's a blessing in disguise?

 Maybe I'm living on a false hope, that's unwise,

 Maybe I should improvise?

Deep down, I already know that these are

all lies.

-Before Everything Dies-

There is a night before everything dies,

When nothing matters, not the truth nor the lies.

 There is a story people want to amplify,

 There is a time when all the tears dry.

 when you are out of smiles,

That's when yourself is distanced by miles.

 There are no numbers to dial,

Then darkness is home, no more trials.

You saw my message but didn't reply,

 While these tears come out of my eyes,

 I am trying to think of the positive lies,

 Maybe you are busy? Maybe I should compromise?

 Or maybe you are talking to other guys?

Ugh. I am done being wise.

I am drinking alone, sitting in the shadows.

 Where my new self was born.

 I don't need to be warned.

 You are afraid of the unknown?

I've already passed that absurd zone.

 Attacking from a distance with stones,

It's ironic for you to think your cover wasn't blown.
